Quality solid biofuels for European market

During the supply chain, and especially during storage, biomass can change their properties due to biochemical processes. Therefore optimization of the logistic chain in terms of biofuel quality is a must. The project monitors the evolution of the biofuel characteristics of the whole chain (storage in piled chips and bales produced with the novel prototypes) in three bio-geographic regions prevailing in Europe: Mediterranean, Oceanic and Continental. EuroPruning provides practical solutions about how to carry out the open air storage in order to obtain a product of sufficient quality for the bioenergy market.
